Not much new!

There's not a whole lot new to report. The kids are finally over whatever bug they had, and are adjusting with no difficulty to the "not having TV anymore" thing. It's really nice actually. They're spending most of their time creating things with Legos, Bionicles, and K'Nex and playing together better than they ever have. I'm missing it a little, but I'm adjusting. Joe is so busy with work stuff, I don't think he's even noticed!

The kids are consistently getting up around 5am, which is good and bad. It's good in that it makes for a long day, and I can get a lot done. But it's bad in that it makes for a long day, and I'm wiped out at the end of it!

I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed in a week, so that will be fun. In other surgical news, Lexi is scheduled to have her tumor removed on the 10th.

I've got a few pictures to post. There are a couple of pictures of the kids crashed out with Joe the other night. (Joe is awake) Zack kept insisting that he wasn't going to sleep, he was just "resting his eyes." Where he picked up that phrase I have no idea. And there's a picture of Joe giving Mia her first lesson with power tools...he was hanging some stuff and she got curious.

Just a quickie update. The kids have been not feeling well for about a week...coughs mostly. They're on the upswing, so they're starting to act like themselves again.

Joe and I have decided to try something rather...unusual in today's day and age. We were never thrilled with our service from Time Warner Cable, so we decided to switch providers. While discussing who to go with, it occured to us that we don't really watch a lot of TV. The kids don't watch it much either (usually only Cash Cab, Dirty Jobs, and How It's Made), so we starting tossing around the idea of not having it anymore. We've decided to try it for a month, and see how it goes. We've not had it for a few days already, and we've already noticed that we get more done, and the kids seem to enjoy it...instead of plopping down in front of the Discovery Channel at night, we've been playing Legos, doing puzzles...basically just hanging out together, and it's been really nice.

We had some tests run on Lexi, and it doesn't appear that the cancer has spread to her lungs, but we're waiting to hear back from the radiologist. It also doesn't appear that the surgery will be as much as we thought, so we think we'll be able to swing it.

That's all for now...I'll post pics next time!
